Brian Kinsman

Senior Partner

Brian joined HCAP Partners in 2023 and has over 38 years of experience working as a principal with middle market companies. He has invested more than $1 billion in growth and buyout opportunities and has completed more than 100 transactions over his career. In addition to his comprehensive capabilities in originating, structuring, and closing investments, he is active working with portfolio companies in the role of lead investor and has extensive board-level experience.

Prior to joining HCAP, Brian was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Bunker Hill Capital, a Boston- and San Diego-based private equity investor in lower middle market companies. Before joining Bunker Hill Capital, Brian was the founding partner of Kinsman Capital, a San Diego-based private equity firm. Prior to founding Kinsman Capital, Brian was a Senior Managing Director at Pacific Corporate Group, a principal of Charterhouse Group International, a founding partner of Milley & Company, and an integral member of Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation’s acquisition team. Brian’s private equity experience also encompasses several years as a day-to-day operating executive.

A Certified Public Accountant, Brian holds a B.A. from Yale University and a M.S. from New York University.
